How Do I Connect With Fans Using Fan Hub?

Fan Hub lets you build a direct relationship with your fans — collecting their emails, messaging them directly, and automatically notifying them about new releases — all outside of relying on streaming platform algorithms. Fan Hub is a Premium feature, available on Starter plan and above.

How fans get added

There are three ways fans end up in your Fan Hub:

  • Manually — Add a fan yourself by entering their email, name (optional), and country.
  • Invitations — Send invitations to a list of email addresses (separated by commas or new lines), optionally with a personal message. Each recipient gets an invitation email to join.
  • Fan Link — Fans who enter their email through your Fan Link are automatically added to your Fan Hub as well, no manual action needed on your part.

Fan statuses

Each fan in your Fan Hub has a status:

  • Connected — Actively part of your Fan Hub.
  • Invited — Sent an invitation but hasn’t joined yet.
  • Pending — In process of connecting.

You can filter your Fan Wall by any of these statuses.

Sending campaigns

You can send email campaigns directly to your fans from Fan Hub:

  • New Release — Announce a new release, with artwork and links.
  • Announcement — Share news, events, or general updates.
  • Custom — Write your own message from scratch.

For each campaign, you set a subject line, preview text, message body, target audience (All Fans, Connected Fans Only, or Active Fans Only), and an optional link button (e.g., “Listen Now”) pointing wherever you want fans to go. Campaigns are sent from fan@hydistro.com on your behalf.

Every sent campaign is tracked in your Campaign History, showing how many fans it was sent to, your open rate, and click count.

Automation

You can automate fan notifications so you don’t have to manually send a campaign every time:

  • Notify when release goes live — Fans get an email the moment your release is live on stores.
  • Notify 3 days before release — A teaser sent 3 days ahead to build anticipation.
  • Notify 7 days before release — An early announcement giving fans a full week’s notice.

You can attach a specific upcoming release to your automation settings, and preview exactly what the automated email will look like before it goes out.

Super Fans

HyDistro automatically scores your fans based on engagement and highlights your most active ones as Super Fans, with badges like Founding Fan, Always Active, or First Listener.

Active Fans

This section tracks fan engagement over time, showing who’s been active recently and flagging fans who’ve gone quiet (30+ days of inactivity) so you can reach out and reconnect with them directly.

Fan profiles

Clicking into any individual fan shows their profile: when they joined, when they accepted their invitation (if applicable), and quick actions to message or remove them.

Dashboard stats

Your Fan Hub header shows your key stats at a glance: total fans connected, fans invited, campaigns sent, and your average open rate across all campaigns.
