AI Music Mastering: Common Questions

Tools · 3 min read · Updated Oct 2, 2026

Answers to the things artists most often ask about AI Mastering.

Is the preview really free?

Yes. You get a free 30-second preview of your mastered track, and you can preview as many times as you like on both Basic and Advanced at no cost. Nothing is charged until you decide to download the full master.

What format do I get?

Your master is delivered as a studio-quality WAV — the format recommended for official distribution to stores.

Should I choose Basic or Advanced?

Basic gives you a clean, professional, release-ready master. Advanced adds deeper mix enhancement, a full mix analysis report, and a loudness/LRA check. Since previews are free on both, previewing your track on each is the easiest way to decide. See What’s the Difference Between Basic and Advanced AI Mastering? for the full comparison.

What does it cost?

Basic is $3.99 and Advanced is $6.99, charged per track and only when you download.

What currencies can I pay in?

You can pay in Naira, Cedis, Shillings, Rand, US Dollars and a range of other local currencies — so no card conversion headaches or unexpected exchange fees at checkout.

What happens after I pay?

Your mastered track starts downloading immediately after payment.

You’ll also receive a link to your mastered track by email, so you can access and re-download it at any time later. If you lose the file or need it on a different device, check your email for that link.

Can I master more than one track at a time?

Not currently — bulk or multi-track mastering isn’t supported yet. You can master as many tracks as you like, but they need to be done one at a time. Since pricing is per track, this also means you can work through an EP or album gradually and only pay for what you download.

How long does mastering take?

Seconds. Processing is near-instant, so the only real time involved is uploading your file and listening back to decide whether you’re happy.

What file can I upload?

WAV, MP3, AIFF, or FLAC, up to 100MB. Upload the highest quality version of your mix you have — starting from a heavily compressed file limits how much mastering can improve it.

Will this work for my genre?

The engine is trained on professionally mastered records across a wide range of genres including afrobeats, amapiano, hip-hop, pop, R&B, gospel and electronic. Because previews are free, the most reliable answer for your specific track is simply to run a preview and listen.

Can I distribute my mastered track?

Yes. Once mastered, your track can go straight into HyDistro’s distribution flow and be released to stores like any other upload. See How Do I Upload Music to Hydistro?.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. There’s nothing to configure beyond choosing Basic or Advanced — upload, master, preview, download.

Summary: AI Mastering previews are completely free and unlimited on both Basic and Advanced, with payment only required at download — $3.99 for Basic, $6.99 for Advanced, charged per track. Masters are delivered as studio-quality WAV, and you can pay in Naira, Cedis, Shillings, Rand, US Dollars and other local currencies. After payment your track downloads immediately, and you also receive an email link so you can access it again anytime. Bulk mastering isn’t supported yet, so tracks are mastered one at a time. You can upload WAV, MP3, AIFF or FLAC files up to 100MB, processing takes seconds, and mastered tracks can go straight into HyDistro’s distribution flow.
