What Happens If I Do Not Renew My Plan?
What Happens If I Do Not Renew My Plan?
If your plan reaches the end of its billing period and isn’t renewed, your music stays online — but your account changes. Here’s the full sequence.
Your releases stay live
Not renewing does not take your music off stores. Every release you’ve put out remains live on every platform it was delivered to, and keeps generating streams and royalties.
Before your plan expires
As your billing period comes to an end, you’ll be notified ahead of time that a renewal is coming up, so you’re not caught off guard.
If you pay by card with automatic billing
If you’re paying with a card and have automatic billing set up, your renewal is charged automatically when your period ends. Nothing is required from you — your plan simply continues.
If your payment method can’t be charged automatically
If you’re using a method that can’t be auto-charged, you’ll need to complete the renewal payment yourself when notified. If you don’t, your plan moves toward expiry.
The grace period
When a plan expires without being renewed, you may be given a grace period before anything changes. This is a window to complete your payment and keep your plan running without interruption.
If you still don’t renew
Once the grace period passes without payment, your account falls back to the Free plan. Your releases stay live, but you’re now on Free plan terms.
What changes on the Free plan
Your royalty rate changes on all future earnings
This is the most significant change. Your royalty share is based on the plan you’re on when a royalty report arrives, not the plan you were on when a release came out. So once you’re on Free, the Free plan’s cut applies to all future royalties — including from releases you put out while you were paying.
Paid-only features stop being available
Any feature exclusive to paid plans stops working from the point you fall back to Free.
Artist slots
If you were using more primary artist slots than the Free plan allows, the extra artists become inactive. Their existing releases stay live and keep earning, but you can’t release new music under them. See What Happens to My Extra Artist Slots When I Downgrade?.
Getting back on a paid plan
You can resubscribe at any time. Once you’re back on a paid plan, its royalty rate applies to royalty reports from that point forward, and your full feature access and artist slots return.
Summary: Not renewing your plan does not remove your music from stores — all releases stay live and keep earning. You’ll be notified before your billing period ends, and if you pay by card with automatic billing your renewal is charged automatically. Otherwise you’ll need to pay manually, and if you don’t, you may get a grace period to complete payment before anything changes. Once that passes without payment, your account falls back to the Free plan: your royalty share changes on all future earnings including from older releases, paid-only features stop working, and artists beyond the Free plan’s slot limit become inactive for new releases while their existing music keeps earning. Resubscribing at any time restores full access.
