What Is the Difference Between Username and Display Name?

Your username and display name serve different purposes on HyDistro.

Username

Your username is your unique account identifier. It’s tied to your login and account, and it can only be changed once every 14 days — so choose it thoughtfully and avoid changing it too frequently.

Display Name

Your display name is what appears publicly across your account experience — shown in your dashboard, in emails, and anywhere your account identity is presented to you or referenced in communication.

Key difference

  • Username — your unique, account-level identifier, limited to one change per 14 days.
  • Display Name — the name shown to represent you across your dashboard and emails, separate from your artist name(s) tied to individual releases.
