Why Do Prices Look Different After I Changed My Currency?

When you switch your preferred currency on HyDistro, the amounts you see are converted using the live exchange rate — not simply relabeled with a different currency symbol.

Why the numbers change

If you had $1,000 shown in USD and switch your currency to NGN, you won’t see “1,000 NGN or a fixed amount in NGN.” Instead, you’ll see the actual converted amount based on the current exchange rate between USD and NGN. This applies everywhere across the platform — your Dashboard, Wallet, and Withdrawal pages all reflect converted amounts once you change your currency.

Exchange rates are live

Exchange rates are not fixed — they update in real time and can change at any moment. This means the converted amount you see today may look slightly different tomorrow, even if your actual earnings haven’t changed. This is expected behavior and not an error.

For example: say $100 converts to ₦150,000 today, at a rate of ₦1,500 to $1. If the rate drops to ₦1,480 tomorrow, that same $100 will show as ₦148,000. If the rate rises to ₦1,520, it’ll show as ₦152,000 instead. Either way, you still have exactly $100 — only the NGN amount shown changes, because the exchange rate moved.

What this means for you

  • The currency you choose only affects how amounts are displayed — it does not change your actual earnings.
  • Because rates fluctuate live, small differences in displayed amounts from day to day are normal.
  • If you want to see your exact earnings without conversion, you can switch your currency back to the original currency your earnings were recorded in.
