Why Doesn’t My Total Withdrawn Amount Match My Withdrawal History?

Payouts · 3 min read · Updated Oct 6, 2026

You may notice that the Total Withdrawn amount shown on your dashboard does not always match the total of the individual withdrawals displayed in your Withdrawal History.

This is usually caused by currency conversion and changing exchange rates.

How Currency Conversion Affects Your Withdrawal History

Each withdrawal is recorded using the exchange rate applicable at the time that withdrawal was made. This means the amount and currency conversion shown for an individual withdrawal do not change later just because the exchange rate changes.

For example, imagine you are in Nigeria and, in September 2026, you withdraw ₦100,000 from your HyDistro account.

Suppose the applicable exchange rate at the time is:

₦1,500 = US$1

Your ₦100,000 withdrawal would therefore be approximately:

₦100,000 ÷ ₦1,500 = US$66.67

Your Withdrawal History keeps the information associated with that specific transaction, including the amount and conversion applicable when you made the withdrawal.

Now imagine that several weeks later, in October 2026, the exchange rate changes to:

₦1,600 = US$1

The same US$66.67 would now be approximately:

US$66.67 × ₦1,600 = ₦106,672

Your Withdrawal History will still show the original ₦100,000 withdrawal. It does not change to ₦106,672. The Total Withdrawn Card will show ₦106,672

The difference is simply the result of the exchange rate changing after the withdrawal was made. It does not mean that HyDistro added ₦6,672 to your withdrawal or that you actually received ₦106,672.

Why Isn’t the Total Withdrawn Card Fixed Like Withdrawal History?

The Total Withdrawn card works differently because it represents the combined value of your withdrawals, rather than one specific transaction.

You may have made several withdrawals at different exchange rates. For example, you could have withdrawn money when the exchange rate was ₦1,400 per US$1, then another withdrawal when it was ₦1,300, and another when it was ₦1,200.

You may also have previously withdrawn funds in a different currency.

Because the Total Withdrawn card combines your withdrawal activity, keeping one permanently fixed exchange rate for the card would make the total difficult to compare consistently, especially when your withdrawals were made at different rates or in different currencies.

For this reason, the Total Withdrawn card is displayed using your current account currency and the current exchange rate. This gives you a consistent view of the total value of your withdrawals based on the current rate.

Why Withdrawal History Uses a Fixed Rate

Withdrawal History is designed to show the details of each individual transaction.

Because every withdrawal happened at a specific point in time, HyDistro keeps the currency conversion associated with that transaction. This allows you to see what the withdrawal was worth and which exchange rate applied when it was processed.

The two sections therefore serve different purposes:

  • Withdrawal History: Shows each individual withdrawal using the currency and exchange rate applicable when that withdrawal was made.
  • Total Withdrawn: Shows the combined value of your withdrawals using your current account currency and the current exchange rate.

This is why the two amounts may not always match exactly, and it does not necessarily indicate an error with your account or withdrawal records.

In Simple Terms

Think of Withdrawal History as your permanent transaction record. Each withdrawal keeps its original amount and conversion.

The Total Withdrawn card is a current-value summary of all your withdrawals. Since exchange rates change over time, HyDistro uses the current rate to provide a consistent current value.

If you want to verify a specific withdrawal, always refer to the Withdrawal History for that transaction rather than comparing it directly with the current Total Withdrawn card.

For more information about currency conversion, see How Does Currency Conversion Work?

If you notice an amount that appears incorrect for a specific withdrawal, contact HyDistro Support so the transaction can be reviewed.
