Why Was My Video Rejected?
Why Was My Video Rejected?
Videos go through the same kind of review as your music releases, and can be rejected for similar reasons — just applied to video content.
Common rejection reasons
- Technical/format issues — the video file doesn’t meet the required specifications (resolution, format, or quality).
- Audio-video mismatch — the audio in the video doesn’t match the officially submitted track, or is out of sync.
- Metadata issues — incorrect or inconsistent metadata (title, artist name, credits) between the video and its associated release.
- Content violations — the video contains content that violates platform or HyDistro policies (e.g., copyrighted footage you don’t have rights to use, inappropriate content).
- Rights/ownership issues — you don’t hold the rights to footage, samples, or elements used in the video.
What to do if your video is rejected
Check your dashboard for the specific reason listed with your rejected video, correct the issue, and resubmit. If you’re unsure why it was rejected, reach out to support for clarification.
